5 out of 5 stars Best thing since sliced bread, August 29, 2005

Reviewer: Tom Bond “Bondo” (Kansas City)

My wife bought me a DeWalt Miter saw and when reading about the saw on the internet, everyone recommended this stand for it. I will have to say that this is the best money you could ever spend for a miter saw stand. I don’t know if it will work for any saw, but for mine it was a simple assemble job and then off to work.

The DeWalt miter stand is sturdy, the extension arms slide easily, and it is the correct height. You fold it up and transport it in seconds.

Altogether, 5 stars. An absolutely must have.

5 out of 5 stars A stand worthy of standing up to…., August 15, 2005

After 25 years in the home improvement trade, I discovered Dewalt had created a miter saw stand so versatile, simple, and complete. I bought one over a year ago and decided to equip my other saw with the same stand about a month ago. I’ve always created my own jobsite stand….but for $200 I have the exact stand necessary for the electric miter saw without hassling with setup and break down. It is the stand worthy of standing up to.

5 out of 5 stars Nice stand, August 2, 2005

I’ve only had this miter saw stand for a couple weeks but I wish I would have bought it years ago. I really like the stops on the outriggers when making several cuts at the same length. I have a Makita 10″ compound sliding miter and the brackets fit fine. A well thought out design that is strong yet light enough to carry.

The best one I’ve ever used, June 25, 2005

I have used over 5 stands for my miter saws (3) over the years and this one is by far the best. This dewalt stand is worth $300 at least but you can get it here for $185 . I know one review complains about the material supprts on the ends….they are fine, mostly designed for 16′ crown and base molding….this stand is not designed for 16″ 6X10″ beams…

I love the stand it does everything you could ask. It’s easy to
setup and take down, solid easy to square.
cutting mdf molding is a pain with any stand, a set of plastic
saw benches that are adjustable and the 12in slide mitersaw from
DeWalt solves all problems with mdf. I am an inside trim carpenter and I use it everyday.

I’ve been looking at miter saw stands for a couple years now. So far I’ve been cutting long boards in my shop on the floor with a homemade box to hold the end of the board up.

Finally broke down and purchased the DW723 stand. Already my back thanks me. I did some trim work in my basement and what a difference. Took me 5 minutes to setup and it’s portability makes it easy to move around where needed. Outstanding design. There are other stands out there, but save your money and get this one, you won’t be disappointed!

Stand is very sturdy and well balanced, you wont regret this
purchase. I own a 12 inch dewalt miter and saw sit’s on this
stand like it is one piece.

We have been using saw horses and 2×10’s for years. We have a couple of Dewalt DW706’s and we finally got these stands. THEY ARE AWESOME!!! Easy to set up and tear down and very durable. I like the the quality Dewalt has put into their stand. We own 95% Dewalt tools and this is just another reason we do. Thanks Dewalt. Hope this helps you guys out.

3 out of 5 stars Some Good Some Bad, March 28, 2003

Reviewer: Richard D Auman (Lindon, Utah United States)
This is a good product with some flaws.
The Good:
Very portable and fast and easy to set up.
It is stable (much more stable than it looks).
Long adjustable supports.
Flip stops are handy for repetitive cuts.
The price - quite reasonable when you look at the competition (or even the previous version of this stand).

The Bad:
The biggest problem is that the supports are just too small. Yes you can position the support 12′ from the blade but there is no support in between. This is a problem when squaring the ends of 16′ mdf moldings - they really sag. Cutting mdf moldings upright is even worse - a slight bend in this scenario results in the molding falling of the front or back of the support.
The supports adjust easily to match the height of your saw. The problem? Plan on adjusting them constantly because they will not stay put. Also the beams that the supports sit on have some wiggle room to allow them to slide in and out. At full extension the beam can be move as much as 3/4″ up or down

My review is somewhat negative because I wanted potential buyers see both sides - all the glowing reviews hide some flaws. However, I still really love this stand. You can not beat the portability of this stand. The problems I have found have been solved in some other stands but those things are just huge beasts. The portability is far more important to me. Also the stiffer your material the better. The stand really shines for rough carpentry - where small variances with the stops don’t matter, the height of the supports can be off a bit, and the material is straight enough to not fall off the support or sag in between. I have often cut 4 x 12’s for headers (as long as 14′) and the stand held the up perfectly.
Most of my grievances only arrise when using MDF moldings. The fact that I do so regularly is probably the biggest factor in my 3 star rating.
In case you were wondering - I’m a contractor and I have used this stand almost every day for about 18 months.

5 out of 5 stars good things just get better, November 4, 2001

How do you take a good product and make it better? Go back to the drawing board and that is what Dewalt has done. No longer do you have to buy accessories to get the stand to 16 feet and the tape system that was not that great has been erased off the new model. Unlike the first model where it cost more than the compound miter saw the new model is price in check. The price is a little high at over two hundred dollars but when you get it and use it you will say that it was money well spent. Dewalt will no longer be making the old model but there is a company that makes a knock off and they sell it at Lowes and two hundred even. I tried to call this company but could never get a responce and they don’t have a web site and didn’t see any accessories to go with it so for 30 dollars more give me the new Dewalt improved model at Amazo.com where they have a web site and people to help if you need. Try this stand and you will be happy and it has a garrantee also.
